| Nuts and Bolts for DellT@lk
The purpose of this small site is to provide the basic HTML commands for use in the new DellT@lk forum, introduced on November 19, 1999. There are a couple of reasons why this is necessary:
In addition to the brief discussions of hyperlinks and signatures/sounds there is a page of miscellaneous comments on the Other Stuff page. For all of this discussion it will be assumed that you have a home page on the Web. Wherever you establish your Web presence, the remainder of this discussion will assume that the address you use is http://www.mysite.com. Users of this site who find errors or who are confused by the instructions are encouraged to advise the author by email. Once again, it is stressed that this discussion covers only the basics. Links are provided for those who want to venture further. There is also a major warning to those who will be posting to DellT@lk and that is that extra spaces can be absolutely fatal in a post. If your post doesn't look right when it appears in the forum, by all means use the edit function and remove extraneous spaces. You can see where they are also by right-clicking your post and choosing View Source. The offending space will show up as a <br> where you didn't intend it to be.
