Denny's DellT@lk Tutorials This is a guide to three sites developed to help users of the new DellT@lk (November 19, 1999) with basic (and some not so basic) capabilities. The three sites are described below, with links to each of them. Some of this information is not required in the latest version of Dell | Talk (April 22, 2001) but it may still be useful.
The Nuts and Bolts site is designed to instruct users in the basic HTML necessary to post links, graphics, and sound files to the new forum. It covers only the very basics, and can be explored in only a few minutes. To go there, click here.
The ABCs of Java site is designed to aid DellT@lk users who desire to use a Java applet in a signature to produce the proper code to add it to their posts and in the event they have difficulty with it, to pinpoint things to look for in the code which may be causing difficulty. You can reach this site here.
This site has been available since April of 1999. It is designed to aid users in building a decorative signature, complete with Java applets and borders. It covers obtaining the tools to prepare the signature, how to store the essential elements, and how to use the signature in both DellT@lk posts and email. It also provides a link to guidance for choosing a free server and using FTP. You can reach this site here.
Readers who are confused or unclear on the interpretations of the instructions contained in these sites are invited to ask questions using email. View My Guestbook Sign My Guestbook |
